Current mood: calm

I look at that 25 random things about me and think, cripes, I doubt I could come up with 25 things interesting enough to post. The one I thought of would offend everyone (having to do with my religious beliefs or lack thereof).

I didn't watch the football game. I watched Avengers tapes with my nieces. Go, Emma Peel!!!!! My husband made mini burgers and bratwurst and falafel. Yeah, he was experimenting again.

I am posting mostly because a lot of folks I knew only through their journals have vanished over the years. I like to assume because their lives became more fulfilling or they found another fandom and not for untoward reasons. So I'd let people know I am still here. Still cursing my internal female bits. Still struggling with the usual issues of life. Still having dead muses, kilt, I suspect, by a combination of libido-killing drugs and that last book.

So, I'm here. Haven't fallen off the perch yet.

I'm glad you posted! I think about you quite often, partly because of your lovely writing; The Measure of Our Torment will always be one of my very favorite fics to re-read and enjoy. Partly because I find your posts interesting. I do hope things have stopped being quite so one-thing-after-another for you and your family!

But you're also someone I think of in fandom a lot because you're in my part of the country - which is to say, a very large region that is pretty far off the map for most fans, which means a lot of fandom activities are off the table for those of us in the spread-out states.

In fact, I was thinking just today of you, when I thought of both fandom and summer. Ok, it's still deep winter for us. But today was actually sunny enough to pretend it was "early spring," at least for an hour in the early afternoon when I could take the trash out without having to crunch through snow, or slither across ice, or put on 10 layers just to go out and back.

And as I looked forward to spring, and then summer, I idly contemplated the possibility of a northern Rockies-region fan meetup somewhere in late summer... somewhere around Yellowstone, perhaps. Maybe a mini-con of 3 people. :-) But who knows?

Sigh. The distances are great, and we're all busy. And thanks to Wall Street and certain foreign wars, all likely to be even more impoverished in these economically uncertain times, thus even less willing to drive.

But the thought was fun. *g* And it's good to see a post from you. *waves hello*

I'm always pleased to see it when you post, too. And I wouldn't assume that your items wouldn't be interesting to me. Your life is so different from mine (this is true for a lot of my flist) that I always enjoy reading what you have to say.

Hi !

I read one story of yours, "Learning to Uncurl", and this is a really beautiful piece of work. It was very soothing, and highly original.

I'd to translate your story into French, with your authorization of course... I have already translated several stories from English into French, feel free to take a look at this LINK on my livejournal, you'll see all my translations. I always put a link toward the original story in English (I'm not claiming the work of other people, don't worry :))

I look forward to hearing from you soon

Piwi-chan

I have very young children, and among the treasures I am saving for them (as I won't be passing out buckets o' money) is a growing collection of marvelous HP stories. If I can, I plan to steer them away from the last book (or two) entirely. You are a valued writer, with a future inside little mallable heads. I miss some of our older writers as well.
